Is this course for me?

This course will suit you if you would like to develop your own ideas alongside learning lots of skills and techniques. The first year covers a wide range of techniques and themes, the second year gives you the opportunity to specialise in areas that you like the best such as graphics, sculpture and photography.


What will I learn?

This course will build the essential skills, techniques, attitudes and understanding needed to work in the world of art and design or to move onto higher education.
You will gain a strong understanding of the fundamentals of art and design techniques, as well as learning about materials, concepts and influences, visual recording and communication.
Choose to learn the skills and techniques you need in order to apply them to future roles.


Anything else I should know?

The course is very suitable for students who want to study a broad based course and who enjoy working independently. This qualification is the equivalent of one A Level and is accepted by universities just like A Levels.
This course is exam free and instead has two assessment points per year.


Entry requirements

Standard sixth form entry criteria, including Grade 4 in GCSE Art.
